We welcome you to discover the magic of healing herbs!
As we continue to grow our online inventory at Finlandia Alchemy, our physical Herb Bar currently features over 300 medical herbs curated by a team of professional herbalists, you’re sure to find a natural herbal product that can aid you on your wellness journey.
What do you have at the Herb Bar?
Finlandia carries medicinal dried herbs and dried herbal tea blends. You’ll find familiar ingredients from Ayurvedic, Traditional Chinese, and Western herbal medicine.
Our team of dedicated herbalists works hard to build and maintain our sizeable herbal catalogue with the highest quality products. If there’s a herb you have on your mind, even if it’s obscure, we probably have it! In addition to individual dried herbs, we also have blended herbal teas that are ready to help you on your way to better health.
Sourcing the best herbs
The best herbs are the ones that have the strongest medicinal properties. Around 80 percent of our herbs are Canadian and organic or wild crafted, meaning they grew in nature rather than being cultivated. Our herbs are sourced from trusted suppliers with decades of experience who adhere to high standards of quality.
Sometimes, the best quality herbs we can find are not organic. For example, our lavender comes from France and is considered “ultra grade” because they grew it specifically to increase its strong medicinal properties. While it might not be organic, we’ve carefully chosen this supplier because their lavender has the best healing powers.
What goes on at the Herb Bar?
The herb bar is where you can see and experience our amazing array of dried herbs. A herbalist staff member will assist you to acquire any herbs you choose and has lots of information and advice to share on the various teas. You may choose any dollar amount that you prefer, and the herbalist will prepare a bag of tea for you. The herbalist will also apply a label to the bag of herbs indicating the ingredients, any cautions, weight and price, and specific dosage instructions to provide you with the best medicine from that plant or blend of plants.
Whenever our herbalists can spare a few minutes, they love to put out a sample of one of their special herbal teas. Not sure where to start? Come in and ask! Finlandia’s herbalists are happy to talk to you about our selection of herbs and share their favourites with you.

What’s the difference between these herbs and what I can find at the grocery store?
You’ll see lots of familiar herbs at our Herb Bar! We have rosemary, turmeric, and cinnamon to name a few. These herbs are different from their culinary counterparts at the grocery store. Finlandia’s herbs are grown to be medicinal.
You can use our herbs in your cooking, too, to make your food more nourishing and healthful. For example, the cinnamon you get at the grocery store is fragrant and strong-tasting. Our medicinal cinnamon, called true cinnamon, is less fragrant but it can help to balance blood sugars and calm an upset stomach.
How do you use herbs?
Herbs are both preventative and can be used as a treatment. Our herbs are easy to take in as a brewed tea (especially with The Wall Tea Infuser), but their uses are limitless!
Use herbs in your cooking to make smoothies, salads, and syrups. You can make your own herb-infused cooking oils and soup stocks. There are also topical applications like herbal baths, facial toners, and salves.
A quick word of caution—herbs can interact with your medications. Work with your doctor and Finlandia’s herbalists to create an integrative solution for your health.
The Herb Bar also features everyday non-medicinal teas that taste amazing. Tutti Frutti is a popular and colourful blend that kids love with elderberry, apple, apricot, reship, passion fruit, kiwi, and more.
We also have several varieties of caffeine-free, antioxidant-rich Rooibos teas. You can try all our flavours like almond, spicy chai, and rooibos à la provençe.
New to Finlandia is GABA tea. Also known as Gamma-aminobutyric acid, GABA is a neurotransmitter and an amino acid that inhibits neuron firing in the brain. Its proven benefits include:
- Lowering blood pressure
- Increasing mental alertness
- Stress and anxiety relief
- Helps to improve sleep patterns
GABA naturally occurs in green tea. When the tea is fermented with nitrogen gas instead of oxygen, the GABA content increases tenfold! Our GABA tea is a delicious earthy green tea with an abundance of health benefits.
Next time you’re in Finlandia, drop by our Herb Bar or shop with us on Finlandia Alchemy to try something new. To your good health!
